Are you an experienced supervisor who thrives in a team environment and takes initiative?

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Chargehand Porter to join our Portering Services at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the portering team, ensuring high standards of service are maintained across the hospital. You will play an important part in supporting the delivery of a safe, secure and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Applicants will be required to complete a basic English and Maths skills test prior to the interview. Only those who pass will progress to the interview stage.

Please note that this role isnot eligible forSkilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the post.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as first-line supervisor, taking full responsibility for overseeing the portering team.
  • Provide cover for the Assistant Hotel Services Manager or their deputy as required, including attending meetings.
  • Serve as a departmental ambassador, promoting professionalism and excellent service.
  • Manage patient flow using the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.
  • Carry out general portering duties and respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Ensure team performance meets service expectations and standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • A team player who can also work independently and show initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence with IT systems.
  • Flexible, reliable, and punctual.
  • Willingness to work on a rota basis, including weekends.
