Clinical Nurse Specialist - Fracture Liaison Service

Job summary

Are you an experienced and motivated nurse with a passion for improving outcomes for patients with fragility fractures? We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Fracture Liaison Service, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care across acute trust sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of a specialist service focused on secondary fracture prevention. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, influencing pathways of care, supporting national FLS standards, and improving patient experience through education, innovation and leadership.

Working across sites, you will deliver specialist assessment, education and service development while supporting the wider team to ensure safe, effective and timely patient care.

You will work closely with lead clinicians, care group managers and directors to help shape and deliver the strategic vision of the Fracture Liaison Service, ensuring alignment with local and national priorities.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide specialist clinical expertise and leadership within the Fracture Liaison Service.

  • Work strategically to influence and develop services both locally and nationally.

  • Participate in local clinical audits and contribute to national FLS collaboration and improvement initiatives.

  • Deliver specialist education and training to staff, students and patients, including workshops for newly diagnosed patients.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to large audiences and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Implement policies and support service development in line with best practice and national guidance.

  • Work collaboratively with orthopaedic, medical and multidisciplinary teams across acute sites.

  • Deputise for the Service Lead when required, supporting operational and clinical leadership.

  • Educated to a minimum of 1st degree level or equivalent experience / able to demonstrate evidence that is working at degree level.

  • Sound knowledge of Osteoporosis
