Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Asset Managerto lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Trust's asset management service. This is a pivotal role for a subject matter expert who will drive the adoption of Asset Management, BIM and Smart Buildings, supporting the Trust's ambition to deliver digitally enabled, efficient and sustainable healthcare estates. Working at a senior level, you will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, NHS guidance and ISO 19650 standards, while balancing innovation with cost, practicality and operational needs. You will influence policy, advise senior stakeholders and help shape a long-term, data-driven approach to asset performance, safety and financial sustainability across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Trust's Asset Management, BIM and Smart Buildings strategies, aligning with national NHS standards and local priorities.
  • Own and manage the Asset Management Plan, supporting long-term lifecycle planning and optimisation of estate performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, NHS guidance and emerging national directives, assessing their impact locally.
  • Act as the Trust lead for CAFM and asset information systems, driving system improvements, data quality, governance and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain accurate asset documentation, performance dashboards and reports to evidence contractor delivery and value for money.
  • Work collaboratively with Estates teams to define and improve asset condition data, supporting future large-scale data capture and efficiency-focused analysis.
  • Oversee asset data from creation through to archiving and disposal, ensuring robust governance, security and compliance with NHS policy.
  • Embed digital workflows, EFM processes and structured asset logging using manuals, SFG20 and BIM/CAD standards, including auditing current practices.
  • Develop, implement and maintain asset managementpolicies, procedures and standards, monitoring progress against agreed timelines, programmes and the digital plan of work.

  • Bachelor's degree and postgraduate education at master's level in relevant area or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Interest in pursuing further training in NHS digital estate systems and sustainability frameworks.

  • Proven experience with Planet FM, GS1, SFG20, and asset databases
  • Experience engaging with external and internal stakeholders
  • Having managed multiple on-going priorities and deadlines.
  • Working with analytical and numerical data.

Desirable

  • Experience in FM or construction industry
  • Experience in CAFM system configuration
  • Scenario modelling for procurement decisions and adding assets post-capital projects
