Matron - Gynaecology Services

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Matron to lead gynaecology services across elective and emergency pathways. You will have site responsibility at Frimley Park or Wexham Park and share oversight of Heatherwood Hospital.

  • Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred care

  • Manage resources effectively within budget

Main duties of the job

  • Provide visible, accessible leadership across all gynaecology services and act as a role model for nursing practice.
  • Lead the development of specialist gynaecology nursing services, including Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Urogynaecology, Fertility, and Endometriosis.
  • Ensure compliance with NMC standards, NICE and RCOG guidance, and maintain high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Monitor and improve clinical and non-clinical performance, ensuring cleanliness and infection control standards.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and workforce planning, including rotas and skill mix.
  • Oversee staff appraisal, development, and training in line with Trust policies.
  • Lead on clinical governance, risk management, and investigations of incidents and complaints.
