Job summary
Working 10 PAs (plus 1.25 PAs for on-calls) in our dedicated Ophthalmology Treatment Centre, it is expected that you will become fully involved in all aspects of the work of the Ophthalmic Department including involvement in its organisation. This will be under the supervision of the Department and will continue at a progressively increasing level of responsibility as agreed by the Ophthalmic Consultants. This post is available from as soon as possible and will include a weekend and out of hours on-call commitment.
Main duties of the job
Working in partnership with the MoD, we have an integrated military and civilian workforce. With 7 Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 7 Specialty Doctors, 1 Research fellow , 2 StR3+, 2 Speciality Trainee posts at ST1 and 2, and 1 FY2, you'd also be supported by a dedicated and enthusiastic nursing team incorporating many extended roles.
We're also proud to be one of the leaders in ophthalmic research and are working with a number of partners. With access to superb facilities including a clinical trials unit which runs commercial and non-commercial trials, there will also be an opportunity to develop your area of special interest.
