Job summary

As a Health Care Assistant you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a registerednurse/Nursing Associate. The care you give to patients will be compassionate, caring, andhigh quality.

You will recognise your abilities and limitations of your competence and only carry out those tasks for which you are trained.

As a member of the ward team you willsupport the other staff, act in the best interest of patients and treat everyone with respect.

This vacancy is for 1x Full Time and 1x Part Time positions that have become available in short stay surgery elective surgical care ward at Frimley Park Hospital.

Please note this is a front facing clinical role where a high level of spoken and written English language is required. Please do not use AI software for completion of your application for this role.

You currently must be in the UK and have current experience of working in a UK Healthcare setting as an HCA.

Main duties of the job

Some of the main duties of the job include:

o Carrying out assigned tasks as part of clinical team in support of registered nurseso Undertake some aspects of care provision without direct supervision. Ensuring thesafety and wellbeing of patients.o Always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through theadoption of person centred care principles.o To assist members of the multi-disciplinary team to maintain patient's fundamentalneeds and ensure patient safety.o To carry out duties in support and under supervision of a registered nurse or NursingAssociate.o To participate in direct patient care and other general duties within the clinical areaemployed.o To provide support and leadership to care assistants and assist with a range of bothclinical and non-clinical duties.o To assist with a range of non-clinical duties.

Mentor and support new to care and Health Care Support Workers on the carecertificate and to be a buddy to any new starters. To care for enhanced care observation patients as required, under the TrustsAssessment, Observation and 1:1 Engagement for General Adults, Children andYoung People Policy.
