Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Sonographer with both obstetric and non-obstetric expertise to join our dedicated and supportive team. This role offers a varied case mix, so competency across the full range of ultrasound examinations is essential.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (DMU or PgC/PgDip in Medical Ultrasound), alongside an undergraduate medical or Allied Health degree, with valid HCPC or equivalent professional registration.

Main duties of the job
- You would be expected to act as an autonomous practitioner whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Consultant Radiologist and key referring clinicians to develop an innovative and leading edge Ultrasound service.
- You will support the effective planning, development, organisation and delivery of ultrasound training for sonographers and medical staff working collaboratively with the Consultant Radiologists; to provide highly specialist, expert clinical ultrasound knowledge.
- You will provide clinical leadership in ultrasound practice and develop sonographer sub-specialisation in order to facilitate an effective high quality and evidence based service to enhance patient care.
- Working with the Ultrasound Manager and Consultant radiologist to facilitate ultrasound based clinical research/audit and initiate/implement evidence based practice
