Advanced Practitioner in Medical Ultrasound

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Sonographer with both obstetric and non-obstetric expertise to join our dedicated and supportive team. This role offers a varied case mix, so competency across the full range of ultrasound examinations is essential.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (DMU or PgC/PgDip in Medical Ultrasound), alongside an undergraduate medical or Allied Health degree, with valid HCPC or equivalent professional registration.

Main duties of the job

You would be expected to act as an autonomous practitioner whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Consultant Radiologist and key referring clinicians to develop an innovative and leading edge Ultrasound service.
You will support the effective planning, development, organisation and delivery of ultrasound training for sonographers and medical staff working collaboratively with the Consultant Radiologists; to provide highly specialist, expert clinical ultrasound knowledge.
You will provide clinical leadership in ultrasound practice and develop sonographer sub-specialisation in order to facilitate an effective high quality and evidence based service to enhance patient care.
Working with the Ultrasound Manager and Consultant radiologist to facilitate ultrasound based clinical research/audit and initiate/implement evidence based practice
