Staff Nurse - Discharge Lounge

The closing date is 15 September 2025

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking Staff Nurse to join our expanding Discharge Lounge team at Frimley Park Hospital.

The Discharge Lounge plays a vital role in supporting patient flow and hospital capacity, ensuring patients are safely and efficiently transferred once they are ready to leave the ward. As a Staff Nurse, you will work both independently and collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, safe, and compassionate care throughout the discharge process.

We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses graduating from UK Universities who are starting their careers this year. At FHFT you will be supported through a comprehensive preceptorship programme, mentoring, and ongoing development to help you thrive in your new role. If you're compassionate, committed, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply and begin your journey with us

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for promoting the use of the Discharge Lounge by identifying suitable patients, supporting and encouraging ward staff to utilise the service, and ensuring that every patient's needs are met during their transition. This role requires excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organisational skills, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and well-established team that is continuing to grow, where your contributions will directly enhance patient experience and hospital flow.
