Specialist Dietitian Gastroenterology

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Band 7 for our gastroenterology speciality to lead the service during a 13-month fixed term contract. This post will combine clinical expertise, management, leadership and multidisciplinary working to deliver a key service for our Trust and to manage complex gastroenterology conditions. The post will actively support gastroenterology conditions within the in and out-patient setting and be an integral member of the IBD multidisciplinary team.

Our department is a well-established team with dietitians working within 12 specialities. Main duties of the job

Provide expert dietetic input to the gastro and IBD MDT, offering specialist advice on nutrition support, enteral feeding and complex cases.
Lead and supervise three gastroenterology dietitians, providing clinical supervision, line management, training and mentorship.
Deliver training sessions to MDT colleagues, ward staff, students and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. This will include attendance at a weekly IBD MDT, which will be held on a Monday.
Lead and participate in clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the gastroenterology dietetic service, ensuring alignment with national guideline and best practice.
