Senior Respiratory Physiologist - CDC

Job summary

We have an amazing opportunity to join our outstanding respiratory physiologist unit at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a role for a Band 7 Senior Respiratory Physiologist within the Respiratory Investigations Unit (RIU) currently providing a range of diagnostic testing, at Wexham Park Hospital, King Edward VII Hospital, Heatherwood and Frimley Park Hospital.

The long term plan for this role is for the successful candidate to be positioned at the newly built Slough Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). The Slough CDC is a brand-new purpose-built two floor health facility situated in the heart of Slough opening in early 2026. The CDC will operate 7 days a week and will offer an extensive set of diagnostic services including imaging, cardio-respiratory, audiology, phlebotomy and endoscopy.

A successful candidate will be expected to assist in the development and help manage physiology team members, through recruitment, training and development to ensure high quality care.

To perform highly specialist Clinical respiratory physiological measurements in accordance with the ARTP/BTS Guidelines and department's protocols and procedures. Producing interpretation and factual reports to inform diagnosis.

To develop a Sleep service to include assessment, analysis and set up/fitting and ongoing support of patients.

To provide education and supervision to the chest clinic team, and wider Trust staff, regarding spirometry and lung function testing.

Main duties of the job

As the Respiratory Physiologist you will be actively involved in performing a range of diagnostic lung function tests as well as performing and analysing sleep studies whilst working within our multidisciplinary team.

As part of our Respiratory Physiologist team, you will be working within a close-knit unit learning from our knowledgeable consultants and specialist nurses. Training on our state-of-the-art equipment can be provided.

The Respiratory Physiology service will run from 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday and we are happy to accommodate flexible working patterns within this.

Successful applicants will have a BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent qualification) and have completed ARTP part 1 and 2 and be registered with the RCCP (or working towards registration)
