Job summary
We are looking for a substantive Consultant Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join the team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The job is a full time post comprising of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs).
Main duties of the job
The post holder's core skills would allow them to provide cover for inpatient care in CCU and the Cardiology ward. The post holder will also participate in the Consultant of the week Rota at Frimley Park Hospital, in which they will be responsible for daily Consultant led ward rounds of our 10 bedded CCU and 20 bed Cardiology Step Down Ward and in reaching into key areas within the hospital to provide specialist opinions as required. The candidates job plan will consist of 2 Cardiology clinics (1 general and 1 EP clinic); there will also be 1 session of 'Advice & Guidance' and triaging of electronic referrals to work collaboratively with Primary care. There will be a full Cath Lab Day per week at Wexham Park Hospital for Caradic Electrophysiology.
The basis of the post is 10 PAs with a special interest in EP, of which 8 are fixed sessions, the remainder will be allocated to supported clinical activities. In would be desirable if the post holder can support Brady Pacing/Cardiac Device Implantation as well as the Sycnope Clinic. The post holder will be expected to perform as a consultant of the week on a 1:10 basis, where other activities are curtailed. Also 1:6 weekend ward cover, with both of these rotas based at Frimley Park.

Essential
- MRCP or equivalent through EEC rules
- Possession of CCT of within six months of receipt
- Full GMC registration
- Understanding of the structures of NHS hospitals and willing to play a role in the department and in the hospital
Desirable
- Higher degree (for example MD or PhD)
Professional, Specialist, and Functional experience
Essential
- ALS
- Willingness to be involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Understand principles and participated in audit activity
- Understand the principles of clinical governance and demonstrate experience of evidence-based practice

- General Medicine experiance
