Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist or pharmacy technician tolead, manage and act as a role model to all technical and support staff working in the pharmacy and all clinical pharmacists that work in the dispensary.
They will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of all technical and operational aspects of the pharmacy services, within national and local standards, interpreting policies and guidelines (Such asControlled Drug Regulations, SOPs) in collaboration with the Senior Pharmacy Team.
They have responsibility for the functioning of dispensary, procurement and distribution services in pharmacy.
The post holder reports directly to the Pharmacy Site Manager (FPH) and will deputise as appropriate in various meetings within the organisation.
Main duties of the job
To provide leadership to all pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and support staff within the department.
To take responsibility for policy and service developments with pharmacy, under the direction of the Senior Pharmacy Team.
To provide clinical leadership to all pharmacy technicians/dispensary pharmacists in line with local guidelines, formulary decisions and policies relating to high cost drugs within the Trust.
To take responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety within pharmacy, including dispensary, stores and pharmacy distribution areas.
To manage staff working within all technical and support roles within pharmacy, including recruitment, appraisal and performance.
To support the Responsible Person for the wholesale dealers license held at the base site.
