Job summary

We are looking for newly qualified Nurses & ODPs and experienced Nurses & ODPs to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit Team!

Our friendly and supportive PACU department have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, patient focused registered nurse to join the team. Working within the PACU department provides opportunities to work with Elective and Emergency specialities such as the Gynaecology, Urology , Plastics, General Surgery, ENT and Orthopaedics cases and work out of the Department -ITU, Endoscopy and MRI.

Main duties of the job

  • Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care pathways
  • Delegation to and supervision of junior grades, unqualified and less experienced staff
  • Working with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team following local protocols, trust policies and standards
  • Awareness of the effective management of resources within the department
  • To participate in the provision of a safe environment for patient's undergoing surgery in the department.
  • Maintenance of one's own professional and personal standards and knowledge of current evidence based practice/ Continuing Professional Development
  • To participate as a trained member of the theatre, carrying out a broad range of clinical activities

Recovery:

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by provision of appropriate surgical instrumentation and equipment.
