Job summary
We are seeking a locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in gynaecology oncology/laparoscopic surgery at Frimley Park Hospital. The post holder will work closely with another colleague on site with the same special interest and with the Tertiary cancer centre at Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake their on-call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology commitments at Frimley Park Hospital (FPH). This included a 1 in 20 "hot week/Consultant of the week" commitments and as well as working 5 weekends a year in participating both non-resident on-call weekends and 12-hour consultant resident shifts on the Labour Ward Saturday and Sunday daytime. It is anticipated that the post holder will undertake their outpatient clinics and inpatient surgical operating sessions at both FPH and Heatherwood Hospitals.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in cross site guidelines and governance processes and teaching for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They will be expected to participate in both local and network Gynaecology Oncology MDTs and management of the Suspected Cancer Pathways. They will be supported by cancer Nurse Specialists and admin/cancer performance team.

Essential
- Entry on Specialist Register (CCT or entry expected within 6 months of interview date) or, for Mediated Entrants, entry on Specialist Registrar prior to application
- MRCOG or equivalent
- ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and ATSM in Benign Gynaecology open and laparoscopic surgery
- BSCCP accreditation in Colposcopy or working towards it
- Competent at outpatient hysterosocpy
Desirable
- Postgraduate fellowship in minimal access surgery
- Clinical research in the fields of special interest
- Publications relevant to the fields Gynaecology
