Job summary
We welcome applications for a Consultant in Histopathology post. This is a substantive post and will be based at Wexham Park Hospital or the Harborne building in Reading. The post is employed by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust as part of Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services which, includes Ashford and St Peter's, Royal Surrey County Hospitals, Royal Berkshire Hospital and East Surrey NHS Foundation Trusts.
The post holder must be medically qualified, have full and specialist registration with a license to practice with the GMC.
In addition UK trained applicants will be expected to be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists or show evidence of equivalent qualification.
Main duties of the job
The newly appointed Consultant's responsibilities will include participation with the current Consultants in surgical reporting, and the support of and attendance at cancer site specific multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Arrangements for the division of work will be discussed with applicants and a flexible rota agreed with the successful candidate.
