Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Stroke Early Supported team. This with provide any candidate with the experience of working alongside our friendly and supportive community team which consists of Nurse, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist, Psychologist and Rehabilitation Technicians.
The Stroke ESD team is part of the wider stroke pathway within Frimley Park Hospital, which is the hyper-acute unit for the area. Referrals for the team come from the acute wards and also the local community hospitals.
Development post considered for a suitable candidate
Main duties of the job
You will need to have completed your dysphagia competencies and be able to demonstrate that you have been working independently with a dysphagia and dysphasia caseload including acute stroke for at least a minimum of one year.
You will need to have completed your NQP framework and be able to evidence you have managed patients with more complex dysphagia and communication impairments with minimal support.
You must be able to travel between patient's homes within the community.

To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team at Frimley Park Hospital, providing evidence based speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a designated group of patients. Developing knowledge and skills in a specialist area and undertaking extended role competency framework/s under supervision.
