Job summary
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To lead Pathology's business function through the co-ordination of contracts and GP liaison to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and increased profitability.
Main duties of the job
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
GP Liaison
- Develop and improve CCG Leads relationships with key stakeholders in primary care with specific emphasis on PBC leads and their commissioning managers to maintain referrals and improve market share.
- Act as a central point of contact for communication between GPs, practice managers, CCG commissioning leads and the laboratory.
- Develop a communication structure and relationship with the various CCG and maintain a distribution list for use within the communication teams of the Trusts within the network.
- In conjunction with the Media and Communications team ensure the consistency messages to GPs via the Trust's corporate website.
- Coordinate the establishment of an electronic transfer of key communication documents between the Trust and GPs working closely with the IT and Information
- Develop systems for regular GP feedback on laboratory services and relationship
- To plan, organize and promote clinical dialogue between consultants and GPs on an on- going basis, ensuring the best delivery of patient care.
- Leading on GPs awareness of any new services and referral processes through official communication structures
- As part of the annual business planning cycle ensure the Trust and CCG leads are fully aware of each other's business plans/commissioning intentions and develop, wherever possible, a shared development plan for the subsequent

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent level of 5 years experience of working at a senior level
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Business Management and Contract Management
- Excellent numeracy, literacy and competent IT skills.
Desirable
- Traning in contract law/ management of commercial contracts

- Ability to analyse highly complex information, think and plan, sorting quantities of information and using experience and judgement to identify way forward and providing expert advice.
- Highly numerate with analytical skills and sound conceptual ability.
- Competent keyboard user
- Analyse overall service performance against contractual targets, providing expert advice taking complicated aspects into account
- Politically astute
- Able to deal with difficult and distressing situations with sensitivity and diplomacy
