Job summary
The role is a new but critical link for internal and external clients to help develop the department of EME/Clinical Engineering to the next level of specific 'infusion systems' asset maintenance.
Within this new role are two vacancies (Band 5 (1 based at FPH and the other at WPH) to assist in the service and maintenance of Infusion systems across sites from Infusion/Syringe/End of Life, PCA, Epidural, TCI, and other devices such as feeding pumps.
The overall concept is to draw this in-house and have a dedicated professional team to support PPM and Repairs of the 3500 devices cross sites.
Main duties of the job
The role is to provide the provision of a new service within EME/Clinical Engineering that will align infusion systems maintenance and meet new department strategic objectives. With the need to,

The role will allow the work as an essential link between the main Eme/Clinical Engineering section on all sites with the ability to be direct and support a team of apprentices along with identification and implementation of local infusion systems initiatives.

The role will ensure that all infusion systems cross-site are maintained to the manufacturer's specific guidance but overall Corrective and Preventative Maintenance program of works are dealt with and actions ensuring safety and compliance throughout the whole trust.
- The post holder will act as the main contact between the Trust internal and external stakeholders. They will combine all of the above to further develop and improve the EME/Clinical Engineering Department for ultimate lifetime management asset lifetime management with traceability as required by the various health regulatory bodies and manufacturers.
- The Post Holder will form part of a multi-disciplined team whose role is to provide the best possible service to the Trust ensuring their contribution is beneficial to other departments within the Trust, as well as the Medical Electronics, to fulfil the Trust's overall objectives

- The post holder will work with all medical device repairs related to infusion systems and assist as required in the event of demand/leave and sickness cross-site.
- They will be part of a team for infusion-related medical device repairs with responsibility for ensuring that the actions and requirements support safe and effective patient care.
- To be able to guide staff and further identify faults, carry out repairs and planned maintenance to sophisticated electro-medical equipment program as necessary.
- To carry out regular safety assessment and testing of equipment.
- The role will further be the liaison between the infusion systems team and internal leadership.
- To be able to work with and align work of infusion integration and the complexities to align the devices to Epic/EPR.
- To be part of the support team for specialist advice on the safe use of infusion devices, contributing to a high-quality, evidence-based service.
- To action plans in supporting the complex preventative maintenance programs.
- Provide advice to clinical staff and other relevant staff groups in the context of infusion systems priority recalls for safety and validation.

- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in Electronics, Physics or Biomedical Engineering
- In depth knowledge of modern medical devices, systems and standard, particularly with respect to testing and evaluation
- Some knowledge of modern computer-based systems and some IT knowledge/awareness
