Job summary

We are seeking a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Wexham Park Hospital.

The job will be made up of 10/11 PAs, including sessions involving TWR/Rapid Access Clinics, Colposcopy Clinics, Outpatient Hysteroscopy and Theatre operating lists. In addition, there will participation in the Gynaecology Oncology weekly MDT and follow-up clinic. There will be an Antenatal Clinic once a week.

Main duties of the job

The job will be made up of 10/11 PAs, including sessions involving TWR/Rapid Access Clinics, Colposcopy Clinics, Outpatient Hysteroscopy and Theatre operating lists. In addition, there will participation in the Gynaecology Oncology weekly MDT and follow-up clinic. There will be an Antenatal Clinic once a week.

The post holder will be on the Consultant rota in terms of on-call and Consultant resident provision for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There are 20 Consultants on the WPH site which allows for a 1 in 20 weekend non-resident service provision and a 1 in 20 Saturday/Sunday Labour Ward resident day. There will be a resident Consultant night which equates to 17 nights a year as the Labour ward has resident consultant presence 132 hours per week.

  • Entry on Specialist Register (CCT or entry expected within 6 months of interview date) or, for Mediated Entrants, entry on Specialist Registrar prior to application
  • MRCOG or equivalent
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and ATSM in Benign Gynaecology open and laparoscopic surgery

Desirable

  • Clinical research in the fields of special interest
