Job summary
The Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU) provides a range of diagnostic testing, invasive and non-invasive for both in-patients and outpatients at Frimley Park Hospital. We also provide a 7 day non invasive service as well as a 24/7 PPCI service.
The successful candidate should be able to perform a full range of non-invasive and invasive investigations and be willing to undertake the challenge of developing these services further. Suitable applicants should have the ability to work under pressure and be able to work effectively within the team. Participation in the on-call rota is expected. The successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to learn to further develop their knowledge and skills.
Main duties of the job
- Expert with a high level of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through formal training / experience with invasive procedures.
- To participate in the provision of the technical invasive cardiology service and assist during the full range of cardiac procedures undertaken within the angiography suite.
- To be part of a complex device service with regular ILR , pacemaker , ICD and CRT implants with an extensive follow up service.
- To be fluent on all home monitoring platforms across all CRM disciplines
- Developing the cardiac catheter suite ,an established pPCI service running 24 hours per day and 365 days a year. Currently Performing Rotablation ,OCT ,FFR , IVUS and shockwave . 2 labs currently all designed for angiography procedures and for pacing implants . One of those is also an EP lab.
The post holder will perform, analyse, and report all routine investigations within Cardiac Physiology Unit including electrocardiography, ECG Holter analysis, BP analysis, Tilt Table Testing, Exercise and Event monitoring to the required local and national standard. They should hold specialised clinical reporting skills and knowledge.
