Job summary

As a full-time member of staff you will be expected to work 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis, 37.5 hours per week. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to be flexible with different shift times.
As part of the recruitment process you will complete a Maths and English assessment, in order to progress to interview you will need to pass this.
You must have Level 2 Food Hygiene and safety

Main duties of the job
To assist in the provision of a highly professional and customer focussed catering service to all patients, staff and visitors on the hospital sites
To assist with all associated catering duties
To follow duties laid out by the supervisor in the day to day operational management of the catering service in a friendly and efficient manner, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
To work within all areas of the catering department, main kitchen, staff and visitor outlets, offering a flexible approach to workloads as staffing levels dictate

On a typical day as a Ward Host you can expect to take part in the preparation and service of meals, , carry out cleaning responsibilities and communicate with numerous patients, members of the public and other staff of all levels. This role will also cover the catering outlets at Heatherwood Hospital, including our staff restaurant and Caf Glade, undertaking cashier duties, assist with deliveries and quality assurance and stock control
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to work hard as part of team, as well as confident to carry out individual duties.
