Job summary
Deputising for the Medicine Service Manager, responsible for direct line management of Endoscopy Booking Team Leaders, performance management of Medicine Services against RTT standards and day to day operational leadership of services.
Main duties of the job
- Direct line management Elective / Diagnostic Team Leader and overarching management of their teams.
- Ensure that all Trust policies and procedures are communicated effectively to staff and acted upon.
- Act as Trust expert in relation to both inpatient and outpatient waiting list and access policy, helping educate other team members in this area.
- Create action plans as needed using specific information obtained from different areas
- Challenge and manage poor processes
- Be fully conversant with all Trust and departmental policies and guidelines and ensure these are implemented and adhered to.
- To act as a role model to less experienced staff, actively demonstrating Trust
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all colleagues - Consultants, Medical Secretaries, Nursing and Midwifery.
- Prioritise own work in the context of multiple demands from various members of the management team, as well as recognising own limitations and following escalation policies.
- Adaptable and flexible to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to deal with stressful situations, such as tight deadlines and rapid changes to service plans.
- Exercising judgement when dealing with enquiries, to evaluate the situation and resolve problems within remit, escalating issues appropriately.
