Job summary

This is an exciting, but challenging time for theDigital ServicesTeam within the Trust as it doubles its size , supports the delivery of a £40m Capital Development Programme and capitalises on a £30m investment to drive a digitally led future which underpins the Trusts vision.

Main duties of the job

The IT department is committed to a forward thinking and dynamic strategy which follows a 'best of breed' approach. This involves delivering a number of projects to provide staff with the best technology, enabling them to deliver more efficient and effective patient care. We require experienced Data Center Specialists to contribute to the delivery of the IT Programme, providing support and installation services for the continuing operation of the Trusts' server, PC and thin client virtual infrastructure.You'll provide support for the continuing operation of the Trusts' IT Infrastructure including all systems and servers in order to maintain a high level of security, integrity and availability ensuring BAU is maintained

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent specialist experience
  • Professional qualifications e.g. MCP, MCSE or relevant experience

Competencies

Essential

  • Team player - good interpersonal skills and team working skills with tact, discretion and empathy
  • Good understanding of key IT service requirements
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written, literate and numerate.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines and conflicting priorities

Desirable

  • Exposure to any cloud based architecture (Google, AWS, Azure)

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years IT system management in the NHS, publi sector or major private sec tor organisation
  • Advanced knowledge & experience of IT systems.
  • Experience of installation and commissioning of complex IT systems.
  • Good knowledge of MS Windows Server 2003/8/12 and support tools
  • Good knowledge of MS Exchange Server 2003/2010
  • VMware ESX 4.0, 4.1, 5.0 or equivalent
  • VMware View 5+ or equivalent
