Job summary

The HR Business Partner inputs expert HR advice to the workforce strategy and business planning process for designated Functions/Directorates, providing professional, and customer focused advice and support to Associate Directors, managers and staff in the identification and management of workforce issues.

The post holder will lead the HR work of the business area in investigating and advising on highly complex and sensitive employee relations issues, resourcing and management, planning and implementing organisational change, strategy and on-going policy development. To work in collaboration with other senior HR colleagues to deliver effective and innovative ways of working.

The post holder will also contribute to shaping the strategic workforce direction of the Trust, supporting the development, implementation and integration of corporate HR policy and practice in their specified dedicated directorates/ departments

Main duties of the job

You will assist managers with organisational change, resourcing, workforce strategies and supporting them to meet HR targets. In addition, you will work closely with managers to provide expert HR advice on employment legislation and complex ER issues, up to and including Employment Tribunals. You will also be involved in developing and reviewing of HR Policies and undertaking project work as required.

  • Up to date in depth knowledge of a range of employment law e.g. employee relations, equality issues and TUPE

Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a complex environment
  • Experience of dealing with complex investigations, hearings, and organisational change as the lead HR specialist in order to provide managers with specialist employment advice in order to address issues appropriately
  • Experience of interpreting and ensuring compliance with complex AFC Terms and Conditions of Service, Employment Law
  • Experience of planning and adapting/reviewing work programmes e.g. organisational change programmes, in conjunction with managers to ensure that the Trusts business objectives/HR strategies are met
