Bringing together a brand new state-of-the-art Emergency Department, a large Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit with an impressive 30 treatment spaces, an exciting multi-speciality Acute Assessment Unit and Acute Medical and Surgical Short Stay Units.
The positionwill require youto work shifts on a rolling rota basis - we operate a 7 day a week service; 24 hours/day (this includes nights).

Main duties of the job
To record patient attendances, transfers and discharges electronically; ensuring all data collection is accurate and collected in a confidential and professional manner.To provide a highly professional front of house service (this includes Reception, Ambulance Admissions and Patient Flow); it is the responsibility of the reception team to ensure that everyone presenting themselves to the Emergency Department is treated with dignity and respect.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure all Patients, Visitors and colleagues receive a courteous, efficient and sympathetic service.
- To ensure that all data collected is accurate and recorded electronically and in real time.
- To promote excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- To understand and comply with all reception work, procedures, policies and standards set down by the department and the Trust.
- To ensure that Trust values are adhered to at all times without exception.
- To provide an accurate, professional and efficient administration service.
- To complete and update records on a daily basis using both computerised and manual systems real time.
- To obtain patient notes as required.
- To arrange clinics (departmental & outpatient clinics).
- To assist clinicians as required checking on x-ray reports
- To ensure that all telephone calls are dealt with in a professional manner (the aim is to answer the telephone after no more than three (3) rings.
- To assist the Clinical staff at all times to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted delivery of healthcare.
