We have a great opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to lead our Interventional Cardiology service across Frimley Health as Matron for Interventional Cardiology. The successful applicant will be an experienced registered nurse with a positive leadership style. We are seeking a confident and motivated senior nurse with up-to-date nursing knowledge and experience to lead our enthusiastic team within Interventional Cardiology. The post holder will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, their carers/relatives and staff. They will lead by example and empower staff in their personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
Our Interventional Cardiology service comprises two Cardiac catheter labs and an angiography/day ward on each of the two main sites. The post holder will work closely with their nursing teams, Cardiologists, Radiographers and the Lead Cardiac Physiologist and Operational Manager to ensure that we deliver an excellent experience for our patients, who are coming in as elective or emergency presentations. So adopting a team approach to problem-solving, good communication and organisational skills are essential.
The post holder will have lead clinical responsibility for supporting the Head of Nursing in activities relating to the delivery of high quality services, including involvement in maintaining activity levels, managing service pressures and maintaining the highest standards of care. They will lead on delegated projects on behalf of the Head of Nursing. They will provide support to the Head of Nursing for day to day operational issues and deputise as deemed appropriate.
