Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated innovative Clinical Leader to join the Theatre Practice Development Team as a Clinical Educator across the Wexham and Heatherwood sites.
You will provide clinical leadership and education skills in delivering help and support to undergraduate student learners.
The post holder must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to work autonomously. The role requires an ability to act as an resource in clinical education,with a flexible and adaptable approach, responding to the clinical demands within the department and Trust.
Main duties of the job
- To Support all pre-registration clinical leaners in accordance to HCPC Standards of education and training (2022)/ Standards to support learning and assessment in practice (SLAiP) (2008); Standards for pre-registration nursing education (2018) and Health Education England (HEE) Quality Framework.
- To work clinically for 50% (minimum) of contracted hours supporting learners in the clinical area.
- To ensure learning environment is conducive for the learners.
- To collaboratively communicate and work with HEI/Link Tutors to facilitate practice-based education
- To participate in delivering practice-based teaching and training - Simulation Sessions
- To be responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision for a defined group of patients
- To lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the theatres including where pre-registration clinical learners are involved
- In conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Principal ODP, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all staff/learners within the clinical area of responsibility
- To deputise for the Practice Development Senior Practitioner/ Matron for Clinical Education, in their absence, attending appropriate Learning Environment Lead and all Education meetings as appropriate
