The role of the Maternity care assistant (MCA) is diverse, challenging and interesting. We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking MCA to provide support to the Maternity Team in our Day Assessment Unit in MAC.

Main duties of the job

A significant part of this role includes caring for patients who attend their midwife appointment at the hospital. The Day Assessment Unit runs on every weekday, Monday to Friday. The duties of the role include, but are not limited to: preparing the room, taking observations, taking bloods, testing urine samples, providing information and instructions and cleaning patient areas. You will be supporting the midwife who runs the Day Assessment Unit.
