Job summary
Frimley Health is seeking to recruit an interim Director of Strategy for a 6 month post.
The trust is midway through its five-year strategy and is looking for an individual with the skill and experience to champion the strategy and strategic objectives across the trust.
You will work alongside executive directors and the senior leadership team ensure the delivery of plans.
Main duties of the job
You will work independently across the organisation and with external partners to ensure ongoing delivery of the Trust's strategy and the shared strategic objectives of the wider health system.
You will manage a portfolio of projects and co-ordinate, signpost and connect a range of activities across the trust and ICS.
To lead and deliver the trust's work on strategy development & implementation, business development, annual planning, stakeholder and partner relationship management.

- Oversee the Trusts strategy monitoring delivery of strategic plans enabling agility to revise plans due to changes and proactive risk management and mitigation development to ensure delivery.
- Coordinate the translation of the strategy into annual operational plans, which comply with the Trusts internal needs and those of NHS Improvement and the Care Quality Commission, liaising with executive and clinical directors as required.
- Work with colleagues to ensure alignment of all enabling and support strategies with the Trusts overall aims and ambitions including but not limited to, estates, workforce and digital.
- With executive colleagues, manage an effective annual business planning process and objective setting, ensuring that the expectations of the board, the system and regulators and other interested stakeholders are met and that they ensure delivery of milestones to deliver the Trusts strategy.
- Lead the Trusts business development activities, undertaking appropriate market research, and seeking out and evaluating opportunities for the expansion of existing services, and the development of new service or organisational initiatives.
- Lead, with the Chief Executive, for the Trust on the Integrated Care System Plans (ICS) including relationship and stakeholder management to meet the Trusts aims and coordinating work programmes with colleagues within Frimley Health.
- Support the Chief Executive in ensuring that the Trusts position as a major healthcare provider in the region is protected and enhanced, contributing as necessary to external groups and consultation exercises and keeping the board apprised of all relevant external developments.
- Lead in developing and building strong and productive relationships with the ICS and maximise opportunities for collaboration and joint working.
- Support the relevant directors in the implementation of supporting strategies such as education, technology and R&D, and provide expert advice to the development of commercial strategies.
- Further develop relationships with our commissioners within and outside our integrated care system, identifying and co-developing service solutions to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our communities.
- Support the chief executive in the management of external relationships to support the delivery of the Trusts strategic aims, including but not limited to clinical networks, provider Trusts within and outside the ICS, clinical networks, local authorities, local and national politicians, specialist commissioners, cancer alliances and NHSI / NHSE.
- Be a visible, credible ambassador for the Trust, leading stakeholder engagement activities and ensuring Frimley Health continues to be an authoritative voice in the shaping of healthcare locally and nationally.
- Manage the Trusts strategic relationships with NHS, commercial sector, academic and research partners.
- Line manage the Head of Primary Care Interface and Business Development and oversee the work of the team generally.
