Job summary

Night Support Worker - 20 or 30 hours per week

We're looking for Night Support Workers to join us in West Sussex; this is your opportunity to make a direct contribution to the care of vulnerable and often elderly patients in their own homes. You will need to be an experienced health Care Assistant, good communicator and confident driver.

Please note: Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules, this role may not be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK may not be considered. Candidates requiring sponsorship should review the eligibility criteria on the gov.uk website before applying to assess their eligibility for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job

The post involve travelling throughout West Sussex and Brighton and Hove, supporting patients in their homes overnight, therefore, having a full UK driving license and access to a car are essential. Once you have passed your probationary period, you will have access to our subsidised lease car scheme.

The post is for 2 or 3 nights per week (10 hour waking nights), rostered over a four week repeating rota. This means you know which shifts you will be working well in advance.

The role of the Night Support Worker is varied, complex and challenging: one night you might be keeping observation on a patient who has had an anaesthetic and the next you may be caring for someone at the end of their life. You may be assigned to look after a patient who is temporarily confused by an infection, keeping them out of hospital in the process.

Every night is different.
