Job summary

Brighton and Hove Healthy Child Programme (5-19) have a vacancy for a band 5 School Staff Nurse to work term time only, across the Brighton & Hove area. Full time and part time hours will be considered between 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week and this can be negotiated.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to work in our small and friendly service. We are committed to providing a high quality, accessible health service to children, young people and families, in partnership with other agencies and service providers.

You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to use different communication methods. You will work as part of the team but will also need to use your time management skills to deliver care to your own caseload. Confident IT skills are also important for the role. Main duties of the job

As a school staff nurse, you will be managing a caseload of primary schools providing agreed elements of the Healthy Child Programme. You will deliver interventions to support children and families with specific health concerns as well as making referrals to other services. You will also support children and families with additional vulnerabilities such as with safeguarding concerns.

Essential

  • Active registration as a qualified Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register, or an NMC registered midwife
  • To hold or be willing to obtain Safeguarding Children Level 6 module

  • Evidence of academic study
