Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Audiology Team based at Nightingale Primary Care Centre in the role of Paediatric Audiology Assistant.
The post involves working with children and their families who are attending for a hearing assessment. The post holder will work alongside the Audiologists to allow age appropriate hearing assessment of the child. Support and training to develop these skills will be provided . A desire to work with children is essential.
Although the post is a clinical role the post will involve collaborative working with the Audiology Team Administrators. This will be developed with the successful applicant when they join the team.
There will further be the expectation for the post holder to partake in generalised structured training within the trust (for example the Care certificate).
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Paediatric Audiology Assistant. The post holder will assist in a range of paediatric audiology appointments working alongside the senior clinical team and assisting with their clinical duties. This would include hearing assessments of young children and babies. Training and supervision will be provided within the service with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge through further learning.
The post holder will also be required to assist Audiologists with their daily administrative duties. These duties would include scanning, liaising with families (face to face, email and telephone), maintaining stock levels, completing daily calibration of equipment, using and updating S1 and the trust health and safety service audits.
Specific knowledge will be acquired through hands on training and experience gained over time.
