Job summary
In this role you will provide clinical leadership for the Intermediate Care Therapy West teams, ensuring the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. You will report directly to the Operational Lead and Therapy Lead(s), being accountable for the quality and performance status of your service, and will deputise for the Operational Lead and Therapy Leads in their absence.
You will work closely with multi-disciplinary leads to ensure the delivery of high quality multi-disciplinary care and positive patient experience, ensuring the service is patient-centred and evidenced-based.
Main duties of the job
a) To provide Clinical and Professional Leadership, ensuring effective governance for staff working in allocated area or service.
b) To work with the professional leads to ensure staff are clinically competent, services are clinically effective and safe, and an excellent patient experience is delivered.
c) To embed the principles of interdisciplinary working and cross-skilling for all staff, including implementing the competency frameworks.
d) To provide specialist clinical advice, assessment, and intervention regarding complex patients as required.
e) To report, investigate, and manage incidents; sharing learning from incidents and risk with the team and wider organisation as appropriate.
f) To manage complaints in accordance with Trust policy and share learning across the team.
g) To line manage allocated staff to include, recruitment process, sickness and absence monitoring, and disciplinary / performance issues.
