Job summary
We are excited to share an exciting development opportunity in our Bladder and Bowel Service as a Specialist Nurse. If you're passionate about patient care and rehabilitation and would like to make a difference to someone's life each day, we would love to hear from you! This development role will enable you to be supported to complete a wide range of trainings and competencies within an agreed time frame to develop your skills and knowledge to practice at a senior nurse role with both clinical and operational support.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and use your specialist skills within our Bladder and Bowel Service in clinic settings and visiting patients in their homes. You will be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programmes for individuals teaching and supporting both staff and carers.
It is also an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to develop specialist skills and transition from a Band 5 position into Band 6. With a supportive six-month programme and would welcome applications from those seeking a development post. We can help you acquire the skills and competencies required.
We currently have opportunities across Brighton and Hove as well as in the High weald Lewes and Havens area.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for conducting clinics, managing a caseload of patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction, and carrying out domiciliary visits. This will include assessing and supporting patients to optimise their quality of life living with a bladder and/or bowel condition, carrying out holistic continence assessments, and advising on self-management programmes and management options.
We also provide ongoing education programmes and support to other healthcare professionals/workers and promote excellence in continence nursing care.
You will need to able to drive with a full UK licence due to the geographic area covered by the team.
