Job summary
The post holder is responsible for providing expert-level support and installation services for the continuing operation of network and telecommunication infrastructure for the Trust on the main campus and all offsite locations in order to maintain high levels of security, integrity and availability.
The post holder will lead a small team of network and telecommunication engineers and manage the workload of the team, taking day to day responsibility for the provision of general support, and to take a key role in deployments and trouble shooting. They will assist in planning and implementing IT projects and be expected to work proactively under their own initiative.
In addition, the provision of support and advice to other IT staff, Trust managers and end-users on the use and management of IT network & telecommunication hardware and software.
Main duties of the job
- Support, develop and maintain relationships with other technical teams within the department, and peer organisations within the local health community, to ensure a consistent and co-ordinated service for the Trust and its business partners.
- Establish and maintain good and effective working relationships within IT, the Informatics service and with Trust service managers, clinicians, suppliers and appropriate NHS leads.
- To effectively communicate any technical requirements to staff at all levels
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure robust processes are established for support and supply contracts.
- To work with Trust project managers and other staff to support key projects
About us
The post holder will be a member of the IT Network & Telecomms team. This team concentrates on the provision of IT operational support and project work.
The team are responsible for delivering second line, technical customer focused, IT support to all SCFT staff. The team liaise with multiple internal and external clinical and non-clinical services.
The team provides a responsive service via incoming telephone calls, and tickets logged via the IT Portal, and assist in resolving first line incidents and service requests.
