Job summary
An opportunity has a arisen for a Logistics Supervisor to support the busy Logistics team at Brighton General Hospital. The post-holder will support the Logistics Manager to prioritise and coordinate team activities across Transport, Portering and Stores services, ensuring all functions are performed promptly, safely and in line with statutory and mandatory requirements. The role requires experience driving multiple vehicle types and previous supervisory/ management experience.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality, safe and efficient transport service, ensuring all courier routes are covered within existing resource availability.
To undertake driving tasks including removals and vehicle deliveries. To assess work where necessary for access, risk and viability prior to its allocation to team members.
To support cross-site operations including transfer of stores, general goods-in, waste and items for repurposing/ remarketing.
To complete all related documentation including transfer notes, CD books and mileage sheets, obtaining appropriate signatures and other information as defined by the task.
To monitor team documentation e.g. vehicle checks and delivery signatures as required and pass on for action or filing as appropriate.
