Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehabilitation Technician to join Community Neuro Rehab team (CNRT North) . The service delivers specialist neurological rehabilitation to people with stroke, acquired brain injury and long term neurological conditions.

You will work as part of well-established wider Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and Specialist Practitioners) where you will provide a range of therapy interventions in a range of locations, such as patient's own homes as well as local gyms and shops, to provide person-centred, goal-based rehabilitation. Therapy input may also be delivered remotely, using video-conferencing.

With such a wide range of conditions and methods of delivery of rehabilitation, no two days are ever the same!

The CNRT North Team is based in Horsham and covers Crawley, Horsham and Mid-Sussex areas.

Main duties of the job

In this role, your day will be varied and interesting, supporting patients towards achieving their goals. You will be supported by registered Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Therapy Practitioner colleagues to review the needs of patients.

Your role will include delivery of patient-centred care and therapy programmes, focusing on rehabilitation and improving function and independence for example with activities of daily living.

You will be able to work without the need for direct supervision of therapies staff however will have a supportive team around you.

Implementation of treatment plans range from supervision of exercises and indoor or outdoor mobility practice, to washing, dressing and kitchen observations.

You will undertake simple clinical and therapeutic procedures, such as taking physical observations, and equipment provision.

Efficient communication with all involved in the patient's care is key, as is clear documentation.

You will receive an induction programme and job-relevant training to ensure that you feel confident and able to undertake this role to the best of your ability, whilst being able to reach your own potential through personal development along with peer and supervisory support.
