Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Band 4 Physiotherapy Technician to join our dynamic and supportive Physiotherapy team, as part of the friendly Therapies Team at Velindre Cancer Service. This role is ideal for an experienced Physiotherapy support worker or assistant looking to take the next step in their career.
This post is advertised on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) but part-time working would be considered.
Main duties of the job
You will work under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapists delivering high quality care to patients across our inpatient services, including our same day emergency care units and the inpatient ward. The role will involve working directly with a range of patients who are experiencing side effects from their cancer and / or its treatments. The role involves carrying out treatment programmes, monitoring patients' progress and contributing to their rehabilitation goals. You will also support service development initiatives along with departmental administrative duties. The post holder will also be required to undertake clerical and administrative duties to support the teams as part of their role.
We are seeking a self-motivated and empathetic individual with highly developed communication skills. The role will involve working with several clinical teams across the organisation and therefore strong and proven team working skills are required. We invite applications from organised individuals who can work both independently and under supervision, applying a flexible approach to their work and demonstrate good time management skills. Previous clinical experience of working within a Physiotherapy setting or an ability to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of Physiotherapy is a requirement of this post.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
