Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our dynamic IV Access Team. Working alongside specialist nurses, you will support the delivery of high-quality vascular access services across the Trust, assisting with PICC clinics, line care, patient monitoring, equipment preparation, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care while supporting infection prevention standards and contributing to service improvement. The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment. Main duties of the job
- Works as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients within the outpatient/daycase setting under supervision provided by a registered healthcare professional.
Undertakes personal care activities and clinical care duties with minimal support and supervision as delegated by a registered healthcare professional in accordance with the HEIW All Wales Guidelines for Delegation
- Ensures the registered healthcare professional is regularly updated on the patients/client's condition and progress
- Ensures the working environment is safe and hygienic following infection prevention and control policies and processes
- Contributes to the teaching and supervision of students and junior staff
- Assists with patient education
- Delivers role in accordance with Health Board/Trust Values and Code of Conduct for HCSW's in Wales
