This post is fixed term/secondment until 31 March 2027 due to funding.
Are you looking to work somewhere inspiring? Do you want to make a difference to patients every day? If the answer is yes, then you will want to work with us in the Pharmacy team at Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff.
We are a busy and friendly department. There will be plenty of variety in this job and you may spend time in our Clinical, Medicines@Home and procurement & distribution services. A typical day may consist of dispensing medicines for patients, topping-up stocked medication on wards or processing prescriptions for our care closer to home settings.
We will train you in all aspects of the role, so whilst hospital pharmacy experience is welcomed, it is not essential. We are looking for the right candidate, who is team player and eager to learn.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You will participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.
Main duties of the job
- To receive, interpret, dispense and hand out prescriptions in line with departmental standard operating procedures.
- To undertake the order, issue and receipt of medication on wards/day units to maintain ward stock.
- Goods receipt of drugs and other pharmaceuticals into the pharmacy department
Work under the professional & clinical supervision of the pharmacy team ensuring to follow standard operating procedures at all times
