Job summary
If you are newly qualified community or primary care pharmacist looking for a career change and have not yet gained a postgraduate qualification, or are about to finish your pre-registration period in any sector then we want you to come and work with us at Velindre Cancer Centre. You will have a mixture of roles giving you experience in clinical pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients, Aspetics and acute oncology services, all with the support of senior pharmacists. The role gives you a first step into your oncology pharmacy career.
We are a progressive department and are keen on developing the role of pharmacists. We currently have several pharmacists trained as Independent Prescribers who assess and prescribe for patients in areas such as breast, gastro-intestinal and gynaecological cancers.We also have pharmacists undertaking their clinical diploma/post foundation qualification, advanced practice qualification and consultant pharmacist accreditation. You will work alongside friendly high skilled technicians, assistants and administrative staff to provide oncology pharmacy services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will primarily be responsible for undertaking duties involved in the provision and development of efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical services with Velindre Cancer Centre.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term for 2 years to meet the needs of the service
Weekend commitments on a rota basis
1. This post is fixed term/secondment from August 2025 until August 2027 .
