Job summary
The Ambulatory Care Ward Manager will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Ambulatory Care Department including the environment, the quality and safety of service delivered and for the safe and efficient flow of patents through the Department They will report to the Senior Operational Nurse and provide direct line management to the nursing staff within the ambulatory care service and professional support to the AOS and IO teams who function in the Ambulatory Care area.
Main duties of the job
- Be the nominated deputy for the Ward Manager on first floor ward across all relevant functions and clinical services and attend relevant professional and operational meetings. They will actively contribute to the delivery of the Quality, Safety and Assurance agenda across the Cancer Centre.
- Provide compassionate leadership in respect of delivery of service and cancer centre objectives and provide a highly visible and accessible presence in clinical and all other areas within the directorate.
- Provide professional nurse leadership (strategic and operational) and act as a professional role model to all nurses and take corrective action to uphold Trust standards and the profession.
- Will participate in the cancer centre Senior Nurse / Operational Pager rota to provide operational and clinical advice and be expected to provide clinical support to the treatment helpline, professional advice and leadership across a range of shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
