Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated administrator to join our Immunotherapy Toxicity service in the Integrated Care Directorate at Velindre Cancer Centre on a 12 month secondment (30 hours per week).

The Immunotherapy MDT Co-ordinator is a key role in providing support to the Immunotherapy toxicity service with data collection, coordinating meetings, general admin support and supporting the development of the service through arranging meetings with key specialists within the LHBs.

The MDT Co-ordinator co-ordinates referrals to the service and ensures that there is a smooth pathway for patients presenting with Immunotherapy toxicities and also ensuring that the VCC team is provided with a high level of support. They facilitate a bi-weekly Consultant led SST meetings, a weekly local Health Board MDT and a weekly Endocrine team meeting to discuss all patients currently being managed for immunotherapy toxicities, including direct link with local acute oncology teams to flag inpatients, review management, and communication with specialist colleagues (gastroenterology/respiratory/cardiology etc.) as required.

Main duties of the job

They will liaise closely with VCC medical and clinical staff, staff in Health Boards, Primary Care teams and colleagues in the wider cancer network and other centres to provide seamless methods of working.

They will undertake data collection which will allow evaluation of the service and inform future developments, which includes compiling data and maintaining spread sheets and databases.

We are therefore, seeking a skilled, reliable and highly organised individual with excellent communication and organisation skills. The post holder requires experience of Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent organisational abilities and the capability to work in a confidential manner are of paramount importance in this role. The ability to communicate effectively as part of a team; to work well under pressure and to prioritise the demands in a busy environment are also essential.

The post holder will need to be flexible as the role will involve providing administrative support to a number of staff and working across departments and across the week, including evenings and weekends. This role may also change pending the needs of the service.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to - meet the needs of the service
