Job summary
Senior Emergency Practitioner -
Band 7
Trowbridge MIU Unit
22.5 Hours per week-Permanent
We
have an opportunity for a Physiotherapist to work within our Chippenham and
Trowbridge MIUs as an Emergency Physiotherapy Practitioner/ First Contact
Physiotherapist.
You
will act as an MSK specialist within MIU seeing patients booked directly as a
first contact practitioner, which may include patients with not only soft
tissue injuries, MSK problems and simple fractures, but also other urgent minor
injury presentations as your competency and skill set allows.
Main duties of the job
You will also be responsible for running soft tissue injury clinics for patients who have already been assessed with the urgent care setting and require fast access to specialist assessment and advice.
The role would suit an experienced Physiotherapist with excellent clinical reasoning and experience of acute injuries and their management (e.g. sports teams). Additional experience of managing patients with co-morbidities and frailty also beneficial. You will promote the trusts objective to ensure the patient has access to the right care, with the right person, at the right time.
Ability to work autonomously at a high level essential, although support will be given via MIU and Physiotherapy. You must be able to work well within the MDT and promote the role of Physiotherapy. This will be run face to face predominantly.
There are 22.5 hours available at both Trowbridge and Chippenham MIUs, part of which will be in the soft tissue injury review clinic and part will be as front line MIU staff, depending on need.
Please don't hesitate to contact
Barry Iedema if you would like any further
information or to arrange an informal visit via 07392 280263
