Band 6 Speech & Language Therapy (Stroke)
Full time (37.5 hours) maternity cover
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, to work on the 20 bedded Stroke Unit based at Chippenham Hospital, covering the maternity leave of the current post holder for at least 9 months. This will involve working closely with an experienced SLT Assistant who is on the ward for 3 days a week.
The successful candidate will be able to provide clear evidence of up to date and relevant clinical practice and education as well as an appetite for innovative practice. Applicants need to have enthusiasm and commitment to working within a stroke-based team and to have recent experience of working in or in partnership with stroke services within the NHS.
Specialist knowledge of stroke is essential, as is post graduate dysphagia training.
Main duties of the job

The post provides an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills within our small team, as there will be opportunities to support less experienced colleagues and work with the Adult Acquired Team Leader on clinical governance initiatives.
A car owner/driver is useful but not essential and you will need to be a member of the RCSLT and HCPC.
