Job summary
The Welsh Blood Service has an opportunity for a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to work within the Red Cell Immunohaematology Laboratory.
Applicants for this post must have completed or be working towards a specialist qualification (either IBMS Specialist Diploma in Transfusion Science & GMP or BBTS Specialist Certificate to practice).
The post holder will work in a team and be responsible for serological investigation of hospital and antenatal patients throughout Wales.
This role includes the requirement to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The role will be in the Red Cell Immunohaemataology department and will involve working as part of a team to ensure the safe management of serological patient testing throughout Wales.
Duties may also encompass management of antenatal patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
