Job summary
- Play a pivotal role in the delivery of the engagement programme for the Welsh Bone Marrow Donor Registry across Wales.
- Support the development of communications plans that enable the Service to retain existing donors and recruit new donors
- Responsible for developing and delivering a staff and donor engagement programme including presenting information on stem cell donation, developing and maintaining a suite of learning materials for electronic distribution
Main duties of the job
You will work under the direction of the coordination unit manager where you will also be responsible for developing and delivering a staff and donor engagement programme including informational training.
You will be expected to build on previous developments and also develop new suites of learning materials promoting recruitment through both blood donation and cheek swab. This would be targeted for electronic distribution.
You will be expected to work to understand the barriers to donation across different communities and work with the Head of the Welsh Bone Marrow Donor Registry, Head of Donor Engagement and the Velindre equality and diversity team to develop targeted recruitment strategies.
You will be expected to work with the Welsh Blood Service donor engagement team to analyse previous media activity and statistics to identify potential media targets for communications activity and attend recruitment events in a variety of settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
