THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING This post is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

Public Health Wales is looking for a creative and organisedGraphic Designer to help bring essential public health information to life. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys transforming complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals that help people understand and act on important health messages.

Working as part of our Digital Content team, you'll design accessible, high-quality graphics for digital channels, campaigns and print materials. You'll support colleagues across the organisation, developing visuals that are accurate, inclusive and aligned to our brand.

You will manage your own design workload, from initial brief to final artwork, and help maintain the shared design assets that keep our materials consistent and easy to produce.

If you're passionate about impactful visual communication and want to contribute to improving health and wellbeing across Wales, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As our Graphic Designer, you will design and deliver clear, accessible visual content across a range of formats, including infographics, posters, reports, campaign materials and social media graphics. You'll plan and manage multiple projects at once, advising colleagues on the most effective visual approach and ensuring outputs meet brand, accessibility and quality standards.

You'll create layouts, illustrations, icons, templates and infographics that help explain complex or sensitive information, preparing assets correctly for digital and print use.

All designs created will need to be bilingual (Welsh and English), ensuring accuracy, consistency and cultural sensitivity across all visual materials.

You'll also help maintain shared design libraries, templates and image assets so the wider organisation can produce consistent materials efficiently.

You'll communicate clearly with non-design colleagues, explain design decisions in plain language, gather feedback and refine work based on user needs. You will also support colleagues in using templates and contribute to improving design processes across the team.
