Designated Nurse/Practitioner

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work nationally in NHS Wales. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, allied health professional or practitioner with significant experience in the field of safeguarding, with proven leadership ability and can evidence impact at a strategic level. The post is key to supporting actions in relation to reviews of safeguarding in Wales, which requires the National Safeguarding Service to support recommendations to strengthen assurance and improvement.

Main duties of the job

The National Safeguarding Service, NHS Wales (NSS) is the national service provider of professional and NHS system leadership across the spectrum of safeguarding children and adults at risk. The NSS provides a unique function, ideally positioned to give a strategic national focus for NHS Wales providing objectivity, whilst being an enabler for improved quality and the reduction of variation across Wales in relation to safeguarding.

You will have excellent communication, negotiation and reporting writing skills with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
