Public Health Research Officer (Temporary fixed term contract of 3 months)
Are you a recent graduate or postgraduate with a degree in public health, behavioural or social sciences and at the start of your public health career? We have an excellent opportunity to help develop the work of the Wider Determinants of Health Unit at Public Health Wales. The Unit seeks to work with partners to strengthen action on the building blocks of health including education, work, housing, income and the built and natural environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and methodical individual to gather insights from key stakeholders to inform the development of our work areas and projects. You will be responsible for conducting online and in-person interviews and focus groups, performing thematic analysis and producing a report with actionable insights.
You will also support the work to develop an online, evidence-informed resource on the wider determinants of health which will help to mobilise knowledge and support decision-makers across Wales.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, working within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
Main duties of the job
Undertaking desk top research and work with external organisations to design, implement and disseminate research in order to inform policy development in Wales
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
